DOCUMENTARY FEATURE FILMS: from concept through post

PRODUCER: FOUR SEASONS LODGE, PBS. Co-creator: concept-development, themes, look and style, writing, casting, story structure, from beginning of pre-production through release. Signed legendary Albert Maysles (DP); crewed up; coordinated and field-produced shoots; wrote press releases that attained pre-production coverage in Filmmaker and Variety; organized test screenings; oversaw digitizing, logging, transcribing of over 250 hours; hired and coordinated translators, interns, outreach and APs. Festival and distribution strategy; oversaw budget (500k); maintained databases of clips, logs, transcripts, notes; oversaw editors and assistant editors; presented film publicly. Reviewed in NYT, TimeOut, LA Times, Variety, etc. Festival Premieres included: AFI’s Silverdocs, Hamptons International FF, Provincetown Int’l, WatchDocs Warsaw, etc. Theatrical Premieres included NY’s IFC Center and Los Angeles’ Laemmles. Co-producer: TYING THE KNOT, Logo. Roadside Attractions. Creative. Responsible for supervising and producing independent feature-length documentary about national same-sex marriage debate. Responsible for creative development including: finding and researching compelling stories and subjects to film; shooting segments with a Sony PD-150; writing including website content, html, project summaries, one-sheets; grant writing; developing, implementing outreach campaign; assisting with festival applications and distributor selection. Premiered Tribeca Film Fest 2004, Theatrical release Oct 2004, DVD release May 2005. Distributed by Roadside Attractions, Docurama Films, iTunes, Netflix, Logo. PRODUCER + STORY PRODUCER: SEEING SHAPES, indie doc 1-hour juxtaposing highly-textured verite of rehearsals and show-build, with beautifully shot dances, on a South-Asian choreographer and her evolution to claim the title and respect of the Artist, and her stunning dance troupe. Work has been mostly in post-story, and grew out of full producer roles on a doc feature and short, in a family of artful dance documentaries. Shapes is raising funds for color-correct, sound mix, and other finishing. 2018 - ongoing
